The world of SEO is ever-changing.  Google frequently updates their algorithms and makes other changes to how websites show up in the search results, but there is still one constant – and that is content.  No matter what is going on with SEO changes, the one thing you can rely on to stay the same is that content is still king.

Compelling, original, and continuous content is overall your best SEO marketing strategy. For one thing, it gives you focus.  Forget about everything else and focus on your content.  Then, after completing your amazing and engaging content, insert a keyword rich meta title and meta description along with some meta keywords so that you page can directly communicate with Google.

You may be thinking, I’ve heard the cliché content is king many times before…but consider this;

Google’s job is to deliver a “product” (i.e your’s or a competitor’s website) to their customer. They want to deliver the best product. So how does Google determine which website is the best?  By its content.

When a user types in search terms or asks a question, Google wants to give that user the most valuable answer or experience.  That’s the constant about content.  No matter what else is going on in the SEO world, Google’s goal is to give their customer’s value.

The next question then becomes, “What is valuable content?”.  Check your site against this checklist and see where it stands.

  1. Easy to navigate
  2. Headlines and meta descriptions are accurate and detailed
  3. Formatted for skimming with header, bullet points, etc..
  4. Well-written and engaging
  5. Visual graphics, pictures, links, videos, etc…
  6. Highly relevant to the search word or phrase
