Do you find yourself ignoring your blog because you can’t think of anything to write about? Or rehashing the same topics over and over again?  Maybe you feel you’ve exhausted the topic of your site and have been out of fresh ideas for a while.

Since your blog is a vital part of your business, it needs to be updated frequently.  Your readers will like this and so will Google.  So, if you’re struggling to come up with new ideas for your blog, we’ve listed five ways to get great ideas for blog posts here.

1. Use a blog topic generator

Topic generators are a fun and easy way to get new ideas for your blog.  HubSpot’s topic generator, for example, has you put in three nouns and then gives you five topics based on those keywords.  Another good one is Portent.com.  You simply put in one keyword and it comes up with a title as well as some ideas around that title. It’s automatic brainstorming.

2. Hire writers to pitch topics

Just because you might find a topic stale, doesn’t mean everyone else does.  Get some new, fresh ideas by bringing in a writer or two to help lighten the blog writing load. Have the writer pitch a few topics and see where it takes you. This is one of the top ways we help our clients at Solutions Digital Marketing, so message us here if you would like to talk about a regular blog on your site.

3. Write a review

Reviews of products, books or anything that could be relevant to your site will give you something to write about. For example, if your website is focused on organic eating then reviewing organic food products, cookbooks, and really any product or service related to healthy, organic eating will keep you busy for weeks.

4. Interview an expert

Find a local expert and ask if you can interview him. For example, if you run a website on how to choose the right career, you could interview local professionals about their careers – lawyers, doctors, archaeologists, restaurant owners. The list is really  endless.

5. Make a list of frequently asked questions

What do customers or website visitors usually ask you? By brainstorming these frequently asked questions, you can come up with some fresh blog posts that answer these most common questions.
